Hey, guys! The fiance' and I have been planning, planning, planning and have yet to completely settle on a cake. One thing we have settled on, however, is that we'd really like some sort of tiered cupcake creation with a small wedding cake on top. We've seen some pictures and talked with a couple of people and really feel that this would be appropriate for our ceremony ... but we haven't found a design that really pops out at us. Any ideas???

~Joshua (and William)

P.S. - Our colors are white and yellow and the daisy is our flower.

Hi Joshua!

I love this cupcake idea. Many couples (straight & gay) have opted for this option because of its creativity, tastiness, and budget-friendliness.

By design, do you mean the construction of the tiered element? Or, are you trying to figure out color schemes and how it would tie into a cake on top?

Are there any symbols or other themes which are important to you and could inform the shape of your (cup)cake creation?

Perhaps this is something that your florist might have an inspiration for and you could tie in an arrangement as a centerpiece and complement to the cupcakes?

Can you attach photos or ideas you have liked?

Kathryn

Okay, the top will be the two-layer cake (with the layers right on top of each other). I'll post the cupcakes next.

Okay, so the cupcakes will look basically the same as the ones pictured, except the icing will be white with lightly airbrushed tips of the matching yellow. What do you think?

And this is basically the stand that I've purchased (and remade).

I love it! In particular I think that your stand is amazing!

K and I are having cupcakes only - no top cake - but very similar! Where did you get the stand / how did you "re-make" it? We haven't decided how to display the cupcakes.

If you don't mind me asking - what is your vendor charging per cupcake?

P.S. - The cupcakes are costing us about .40 a piece, and the top two-tier cake is running about $16 ... all hand made and delicious! ;-)

Rachel,

It's so good to hear from you! My aol mail has been down for a couple of days (I have no idea why!) so I'm sorry I haven't responded to your e-mail. Hopefully it will be up and running again within the next few days and I'll be able to get a good response to you.

Until then take care!
~Joshua (and William)

P.S. - Could you please tell me all about your wedding plans thus far? :-)
