I would try going to www.celebrantusa.com and see if they can refer someone in your area. The other alternatives would be your local Unitarian Universalist church or the local UCC, both of which are same sex friendly churches in most cases.

Good luck,

Celia

I would also suggest looking at the National Association of Wedding Officiants, Many Officiants perform Commitment ceremony's. If there's a question if they do or not, they welcome being asked.

I really wish I could help you but I am an ordained minister located in South Jersey. New Jersey recently allowed civil unions and I am more than willing to officiate at local ceremonies. I wish you good luck and God Bless!
If you happen to know anyone in my area please share with them my website and email info listed below.

Ministers protest ban on gay marriage

I am a Christian. I just want to throw that out there before I get started. So If you want to go ahead and right me off, you may. Marriage is a Judeo-Christain word meaning the holy union between a man and a woman. It is not only biblical but also historical. So call it whatever you want, just not marriage. That is politically and historically incorrect. Call it Cohabitation or joint unity for example. I have absolutely no problem with gays being allowed to legally pledge thereselves to one another. They can live together, work among us without any persecution and lead perfectly normal lives. No American should be denied that right, and I am sorry that so many people think the "Christians" hate homosexuals. We don't. Now there are extremeist everywhere and I am embarrassed by them.
