Does anyone happen to know of gay-friendly locations in Austin? I know it has a reputation as the progressive enclave of Texas; I just wondered if anyone on this forum has had a wedding there and could recommend a site. Thanks!

I don't know anything about Austin, but try checking in with the Chamber of Commerce (or whatever the local business association is called there). Let them know what you're looking for- they'll make suggestions for sure, and (from the story of another bride I read) they may even help you directly by letting their members know about your event- you may find vendors competing for your business without any difficulty searching for a gay-friendly business, since they'll know about the event before you even have to talk to them. There's a good discussion on the forum about coming out to vendors- take a look there, and good luck! -Kate-

I lived in Austin for over a decade and was married at Green Pastures. It's a historic home/restaurant. Has a beautiful outdoor garden with gazebo as well as a lovely home.

For those with unlimited budgets, the Driskill Hotel is absolutely stunning.

If you have any particular style of venue you are looking for, let me know and I can probably make additional suggestions!
