Fiance / Fiancee |
We're almost finished with the ceremony (that little to-do you suddenly remember a week or two before the ceremony), and are trying to come up with a good line for the "Benediction/Ministerial Blessing" at the end. Officiant says "I now pronounce you ..." and I'm a bit stumped.
We love "eternally wed", but J's best friend used that in her wedding just two months ago. We've considered "spouses for life" but it sounds eh to me. "Wife and wife" is too rhymy. Any other ideas out there would be much appreciated! Thanks! -Kate- |

Hi Kate!
Did you come up with a solution? For me, it's hard to offer a suggestion without knowing more about the tone you have set and want to set in your ceremony. My partner and I had the gal who officiated our ceremony say, "As it has been said through the ages, 'you may now kiss' the bride!" And, everybody hooped & hollered and laughed so it made for a fun and joyful ending. We also did a poem at the very end, which was essentially a prayer for all of our community and acknowledgment of gratitude and appreciating everything that our friends and loved ones means to us. Some more serious suggestions could be: "I now pronounce you..." ...married in the eyes of God (and/or community) ...partners in life ...wedded to each other Anyone else have ideas? |

Partners in life & married in the eyes of God, sounds wonderful. Although I like Partners in life more.
