Something wonderful our photographer did (without being asked) is to capture a ton of beautiful photographs of the environment where the wedding was held. This has turned out to be so useful now that we are in the scrapbooking / album stage. If your wedding is being held in a beautiful space, be sure to get some pictures that you can use as background images to capture the feeling of the day!
That's gorgeous! I've aseen a few others of yours as well and you are right... your photographer did an amazing job with the "artistry" of your setting!

I know my plan for my wedding because in my neck of the woods where things aren't so "Open". I plan on contacting the College newspaper here and asking to run an ad for a person in the photography dept to come take pics. I know they aren't high class professional but I have seen some college work that is just amazing and it will be a lower budget, plus I'm sure they would love the experience. I also know the younger generations are more open to the alternative lifestyle.

I have seen her do detail shots like the rings being squeezed in between petal of a rose or close ups of the important things like the table cards laid out but I'll make sure she does get plenty of the :back ground" stuff as I see that it's a big part of the day as well. Congrats you two!
I really like your ideas for helping the environment and I guess I try to turn off lights and recycle the garbage that I can. My parents are crazy for compact flourescent lightbulbs which are more energy efficient. About presents, this year I got some gifts from a few places I like - one was Save the Manatees which for $25 allows you to select a manatee and watch their progress during the year. Then I bought someone a flock of chickens from the Heifer catalog. My friend didn't really get the chickens, they went to a family in Latin America that uses their eggs for food, but it was my gift money that enabled the Heifer staff to make the donation to that family. So that's where I try to help others and do it so it doesn't hurt the environment.
