Hi all. I am looking for help on how my girlfriend and I can both propose to each other. We are deeply in love and have lived together for the last two years. We are both pretty typical "girls" and don't fall into the butch/fem roles... so we both really want to be proposed to. Any ideas??? Thanks!
Make it a little competitive. Each of you get with your friends and decide on certain qualities for your friends to vote on. Then each of you propose in front of your friend in the most creative way you can think of. Let them decide who wins. Decide beforehand what the prize will be.
I personally think that proposals are suppose to be given by one person to another. Its really not a role issue because in modern days a woman can ask a man to marry. Someone just needs to make the first bold move and ask that significant one a hand in marraige. Instead of offering a single engagement, buy two special rings plain or with stones and ask your partner to slide the second ring in your finger as well. I love the element of surprise where sometimes love is not expressed by scheduling an event such as proposing to someone you love.
We were kind of like Aneye, Melissa proposed to me without a ring and gave it to me a few months later. then a few months after that i presented her with a ring

My Fiance and I bought the rings together. We also don't have the butch/fem role. We bought our rings together and I gave her mine adn seh gave me hers. We then had 30 days to ask eachother so we could be surprised. She proposed to me under a cherry blossom tree in DC during the fest and I proposed to her at an impromptu gathering of our friends "to off our new house" and Erin McKeown (singer/song writer) agreed to work with me and she asked for me within one of her songs :lucky day:...it was amazing for both of us! We made it up as we went along. Pretty much how the wedding is going to go Good Luck!
