So I've known L for about 4 years now. She lives in Canada and I live in New York we've starting dating about a month ago. We've talked about marriage and even pretty much decided that we'll probably get married in august of 2010 that way i can finish grad school or at least be close and we can figure out if we're going to live in new york or canada. (new york recognizes canadian same sex marriages). I was thinking of going past our just agreement and officially proposing when I go to visit her in November I'm just wondering if this is two soon

No I don't think that is too soon, Melissa proposed a couple of months into us being together and then we got rings a couple months after that. We've been together about 2 years and 3 months and are planning on getting married next year.
