OK-
Women typically get an engagement ring upon the proposal and then get a wedding ring on the same day. My understanding is that women either wear the two rings on one finger, move the engagement ring to the right hand, or (like my mom) have a wedding ring that serves as a casing for the engagement ring. But what about the guys? I think it's great that so many of you here talk about matching engagement rings, but what happens on the wedding day? *Men with two rings? That's pretty gay--even for me. *It seems that you could go the ring within a ring route (thanks mom) but I haven't seen men's rings designed that way. Plus it requires a lot of pre-engagement forethought to have the wedding bands picked out. *Finally, we could jettison engagement rings altogether (Hey, there for girls, right?--One could rationalize). But then what commemorates the engagement (especially since I think we'll be engaged for 1+ years). engagement pocket watches? Bracelets? I dunno. Any advice? No one ever mentions this issue. I can't be the only persickety Emily Post / Martha Stewart gay guy out there. (I don't want a wedding that feels right; I want a wedding that is right.) |

Oh by the way, i typed the wrong word in the first sentence. I meant that you get e wedding band on the big day, not the same day.
Anyway, please help. -Mike |
